About ARPA Northern TerritoryARPA NT, the Northern Territory branch of the Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA), is the only organisation in the NT specifically established to represent the interests of the Accredited Rehabilitation Providers in the NT. ARPA NT was originally incorporated in 1999 under the name Northern Territory Association of Rehabilitation Providers (NTARP), with the name changed to ARPA NT in 2005 when it became a member of ARPA National. This national body is incorporated in the ACT. ARPA NT membership consists of Vocational Rehabilitation Provider organisations who are accredited by WorkSafe NT to deliver Vocational Rehabilitation services. Members of ARPA NT may also be registered to provide services for TIO MAC, Comcare Australia, Australian Defence Force Rehabilitation and Military Compensation. Membership includes local and national Rehabilitation Providers that are private or Government entities. ARPA NT also offer affiliate membership to organisations who are involved in the field of rehabilitation but not directly in the delivery of Vocational Rehabilitation services. ARPA NT and its members believe that appropriate early rehabilitation intervention is key to the achievement of cost effective and durable return to work outcomes for injured individuals. The return to work rate for injured workers in the NT remains consistently at around 90%. This is above the national average of 85%. ARPA NT nominates a member to represent Rehabilitation Providers on the Work Health Advisory Council. This important council reviews and delivers recommendations to the NT Government Minister for Work Health. WorkSafe NT consults ARPA NT when developing proposed legislative or administrative changes that may impact rehabilitation in the Northern Territory. ARPA NT members provide educational sessions to other parties within the industry as a contribution toward the goal of consistently delivered best practice and highly successful rehabilitation across the Northern Territory.
